Firehouse Dinners: To be a great firefighter you not only have to provide excellent care, but also know how to cook. We offer several firehouse dinners a year to be auctioned during charity events throughout the City of Vista. This is a great opportunity to meet some of the firefighters and eat some savory firehouse meals.
Social Media: We have donated thousands of dollars to the families of our patients in extreme circumstances to help with medical care or to assist with funeral costs. Moreover, we have aided victims affected by fires and disasters within our community with gift cards. We accomplish this through “Go Fund Me”, Instagram (@vistafirefighters) and Facebook (VFFA Local 4107).
VFFA Fundraisers: The VFFA 4107 Charity Committee hosts two special events each year. Those events are the VFFA 4107 Hop Highway Brew-off and the VFFA 4107 Golf Tournament.
The Hop Highway Brew-Off is a gathering of firefighter home-brewers that represent their departments in a home-brewing contest for prizes including the highly sought after 1st Place Brew-off Champion Fire Helmet. This tasting contest is judged by both the public and professional brewers.
The VFFA 4107 Golf Tournament is a shotgun-style, 18-hole, team-tournament with dinner included. Golfers compete for prizes and trophies and conclude the night with auctions and raffles.
In 2017 alone, these two events have raised over $23,000 which were directly donated to our beneficiaries (a Tri-City ER nurse and the son of a North County Firefighter) to help alleviate some of the financial burdens associated with cancer.
